Boooooo it's Monday. It hurts extra this week.

We had such a good weekend. Our days were full and we got enough done that at the end of Saturday and Sunday, Ryan and I both felt we earned a spot on the couch with a beer and a brownie. Oh yes, don't mind if I do eat a Reeses peanut butter egg after that brownie, because I walked my buns off today. That sort of thing.

On Saturday we went to some thrift stores and other shops we used to frequent when we lived downtown. We grabbed lunch and some good cheese at the public market, and Ralphie had a nice people/ceiling watching session from inside his stroller. Ryan put Ralph inside his coat while we walked outside for a quick second, and then the kid fell asleep in there, so Ryan had to walk around everywhere looking like a shoplifter.

Sunday was full of little projects around the house. I baked some banana bread. My recipe makes 4 loaves, but I only had one banana, so I asked Ryan to cut down the recipe to only make one loaf. But, turns out, HE MADE A MATHEMATICAL ERROR AND I CAUGHT IT. But not until after I had followed the recipe the wrong way, so we both looked like fools. After it all happened I yelled to him, "I'M GOING TO TWEET ABOUT THIS!!" But then I forgot, so I'm blogging about it instead.

And now it's Monday. Another big snow storm is on it's way, which means more staying indoors, and I'm counting on the flowers on my table to prevent me from going completely bonkers.

  4. Remember what Grandpa G. always said, Amelia. "Kill 'em with kindness." And then say a prayer for anonymous because she obviously has a severe case of the Monday blues. Maybe the worst I've ever seen. Pay her no mind. We love you and that sweet Ralphie of yours!

  6. Well now. Shoot. What a small minded and teeny-tiny person that "Anonymous" up above is. I sincerely hope you don't think for a second about such a ridiculous comment. And PLEASE don't give him/her the satisfaction of a reply. That would probably only encourage such horrid behavior in the future. Honest to Pete, some people.

  7. I just came here to say that Ralphie is completely precious in Ryan's coat! If I was going to shoplift I'd totally shoplift your baby.

  9. Well anonymous, We don't know what you look like, but you are not "cute" on the inside, in fact you are sad and ugly!

  10. Mama and baby in matching navy stripes is the coolest/cutest duo ever. Your hat looks perfect and Ralphie -- as always -- is a total doll. Such a sweet family you are.

...and your blog must be getting pretty big to be attracting trolls like that! Hey maybe someone will start sending you cool swag soon. Free stroller anyone?!?! ;)

  11. I see that you've got a cool camera hand strap. Do you mind if I ask if you like it? I've thought about getting one but am worried about not having the option to rest it around my neck when I need both hands. Is it an issue for you?

Your photos are really lovely and your family is beautiful.

    1. I LOVE it. It's really secure in my hand, and I never feel like I'll drop it when I'm holding it. I rarely used the neck strap to begin with, only because I usually put the camera right back into my camera bag in-between using it (I'm accident prone.) But I'd definitely recommend this hand strap (it's from Photojojo), it's great.

  13. Strange to read that mean anonymous comment when I literally thought to myself today that you have one of the cutest babies I've ever seen! There is just something about him, and your little family, that caught my eye from the moment of seeing a random instagram "like" by another blogger on one of your photos and I've been checking in on your blog ever since!

  15. I couldn't stop giggling at the baby in the coat issue. Sometimes when I walk my older one to school I wear my 10 month old in the ergo and put on one of my husbands snowboarding jackets so it warms both of us up, lol. And those cakes/eiffeltowerofsweetness/whatever look really delicious.

PS- Shine on, jealous people will always try to find a way to rain on your parade.
